Supermarket fish is always at least one week old when it gets to the shelf, and it can lay there up to 10 days.
Also for specialist shops, the very long supply chain often means times to sea to table of over one week.
50% OF NON-TRAWL DANISH VESSELS HAVE LEFT THE INDUSTRY SINCE 1996
With its devastating effects on seafloor and its poor selectivity, trawling is one of the greatest menaces to the preservation of a healthy sea environment.
Yet, since 1996, over 50% of the fishing boats using methods alternative to trawling have left the industry or been repurposed.
THAT DENMARK IMPORTS 90% OF ITS FISH?
Despite Denmark having over 7000 kms of coast, we import almost all of the fish that goes to the mass market.
THAT ONLY A FRACTION OF WHAT YOU PAY GOES TO THE FISHERMEN?
The very long supply chain means that there’s more people that need to be paid per Kg of fish, which results into structural underpayment to fishermen, especially the ones that work independently, sail from small harbours and operate small vessels.

The long supply chain makes it very hard to trace back important information such as when, where, how and by who the fish was caught.

We only work with fishermen using low impact techniques,
and we will never compromise on this..
We made a bet that we can consistently and significantly pay fishermen a fair price for their catch, up to 4 times more than they normally would. We can do this by making a more direct, leaner, faster and more efficient way to get fish from sea to table.
We are committed to make it easier for you to get all the important information about what you eat or serve to your guests. We promise you will always be able to know where, when, how and by who your fish was caught.
Our app shows what is being landed by the fishermen in real time. We work only with coastal fishermen that sail for only one day at a time, and by minimising transport, processing and packaging steps, we are able to drastically reduce sea to table time. Our app allows you to get fish that has been caught down to 24 hours before.
